A Bracelet with a Story to Tell™

Talkeetna is a stop not to be missed by Alaskans and tourists alike.  About 115 miles north of Anchorage, up the Glenn, and then The Parks (do y'all see how The Parks keeps popping up?) Talkeetna is artful, folksy, and full of fun!  I picture Talkeetna as the Mat-Su Borough's Homer (there's another one)!

Photo by Ricardo Martins from Gent, Belgium via Wikipedia.

Looking for some fun, a great place to spend the night, eat some delicious food, shops for gifts, take a flight to see Denali, oh, and ride the jet boats?  Yep, this is where you need to go! Talkeetna is base camp for those looking to climb Denali each year.  It's also perfectly situated to sit and stare at Denali if you're not the climbing type.

How did Talkeetna come to be?  Gold, you guessed it!  By 1910 Talkeetna was a riverboat steamer station, with a population during WWI of 1,000.  Today, Talkeetna has a similar population count that live there year-round. Talkeetna is also famous for their honorary mayor, the cat, Stubbs.  Unfortunately, Stubbs passed away in 2017.

About Talkeetna Bracelet:
Of all the things I could find inspiring about Talkeetna, I chose Nagley's Store. The red building with white trim has been a staple in the small town since 1921. Named after the man who built the store around 1917, Horace W Nagley.  According to nagleysstore (dot) com, "Founded in 1921, Nagley's General Store is the longest continually operated General Store in the Northern Susitna Valley." To represent Nagley’s, I have used all red beads.  There’s 7 Rosewood, and then Red Jasper round and barbell beads. Rounding out the bracelet, there’s gold-filled round beads and gold-filled spacers. The red all represent the red exterior color of Nagley’s, and the gold represent the reason Talkeetna was founded, gold!

This is a stretch bracelet to fit most wrists or ankles. Need a special size? We can customize it just for you.
