Bearberry leaves turn deep burgundy, dwarf birch glows golden yellow, blueberry and crowberry bushes blaze in shades of orange and red. From the air, it looks like the earth itself is on fire. It's one of nature's most spectacular displays, and it happens so quickly, blink and you might miss it before the first snow arrives.
